Ability to create a custom homepage

It would be cool to be able to create a custom homepage where I can initially create a sort of landing page with links to the blog etc instead of just showing blogposts.

I'd like to be able to add additional information to my homepage, lay it out in a different way, perhaps have a customizable sidebar? Now only menu is customizable.
I would use something else for my personal page but there's currently no way to put hashnode blog under a subdomain.
